I was tossing up whether or not to give this book 4.5 or 5 stars. But in the end, I just had to give it 5 stars. For anyone who follows my reviews, you'll know that this doesn't happen often. So it's fair to say, I loved this book. If you would like to read the blurb, you can do so here.
First of all, the characters were brilliantly written. I honestly don't think there was a character I didn't like. Joss, was sarcastic, dark and sweet all at the same time. I found her character to be extremely interesting, and the way she dealt with her life's problems seemed so realistic to me. I don't know what I can say about Bradon except that he is a gorgeous human being. He was very possessive, and extremely forward but I liked that he went after what he wanted and wouldn't take Joss's crap. Ellie reminded me so much of Alice from Twilight. She was so cute and lovable and I just wish she and Adam had their own story!
I liked how the story didn't seem to follow the normal New Adult plot line. To be fair, it did in a way but the characters and their actions made it realistic. Lots of miscommunication but again, I was never frustrated at any of the characters actions, because from both sides everything was completely reasonable.
The romance, was obviously amazing. I felt like I got to know the characters both in the relationship, and out of it. AND THERE WAS NO INSTA LOVE!!! This is the most realistic and addicting romance I have read. While there were aspects of the romance I didn't necessarily agree with, they were character choices that I can respect.
As I listened to the story on Audible, I have to say the narrator for this did such an amazing job. Each character were given their own voice and she was able to portray their personality through her reading. I loved the accents she put on, and the way she brought the main character, Joss to life. Sometimes when listening to audio, you can tell they are just reading it. But this narrator honestly made me feel like the character was sitting next to me, telling me their story. The expression she used in her reading also made the story that much enjoyable. If he story said whispered, she whispered. If she said something through gritted teeth, the narrator did also. Would highly recommend this on audio!
All in all, I loved this and would highly recommend it.
