I thought I'd do something a little different this month. You see, when I'm not reading something I am usually watching something. I'm not sure anyone would really care so if no one likes it, I just won't do it again. So please do let me know if you think this should be something I should stick with!
I'm not really sure what to do about TV though because I'm not going to write down every episode I watch because that would be ridiculous and would take way too long, so I might just do movies. I don't know, we'll see. You can click the images to view the trailers if you want to know more.
I enjoyed this movie for the most part. This movie gave a background on how Walt Disney developed Mickey Mouse and how he got to where he was. It wasn't really what I was expecting as I thought it would be a biography type movie about his whole life before Mickey, not just about his career. It was still pretty good though. I thought the acting was pretty average with mostly B-Grade actors from what I can tell (although Stephanie from Full House was in it as well as the brother from Wizards of Waverly Place). I was a little disappointed in how the movie ended, but I won't get into that because #spoilers.
I went to the cinema to see this movie with my Mum and I absolutely loved it! I had seen the trailer for it before hand, and was really excited for it. I wasn't expecting this movie to live up to my expectations as usually trailers show the only good parts of a movie, but it definitely did not disappoint. The movie was very fast paced and exciting, there were no boring parts and amidst all of the suspense it was actually pretty damn funny! Normally when I go to the movies I get really restless and check my phone for the time a lot, but with this movie I was completely enthralled. I really liked the actors (although who doesn't?) and although some of the market stuff went over my head, I think it was an all round good movie.
So I had seen this movie before when it first came out and I enjoyed it somewhat. Actually if I'm honest, watching it the first time I didn't really understand what was going on. Then a few months ago I started listening to the book and I still didn't really understand what was going on, but I had a better idea. So after finally finishing the audiobook, I decided to re-watch the movie to see if my opinion changed. First of all, I find it hard to believe that anyone watching this movie, who hasn't read the book would find it really hard to follow along. Secondly, I found that after reading the book I wasn't as emotional watching the movie which was strange for me. And thirdly, I think the movie makers did a really good job of sticking to the book. A few small things were changed but I could see why they did it. Overall I think the movie was just, OK.
This was probably my most anticipated movie of the year. I read the book in 2014 I think and I absolutely LOVED it. I think it was the most heartbreaking book I have ever read, so thinking about the movie made me really nervous! I did end up really enjoying the movie. I think they did a great job of casting and they stayed really close to the book keeping in all of my favourite scenes (that I could remember as it has been a while). I didn't feel like the movie was anywhere near as emotional as the book (and the book was way better as usual, but I do think that if I had of watched the movie at home by myself I might have enjoyed it more.
I love this movie! I'm not a fan of Jack Black and I haven't liked anything else I've seen him in if I'm honest, but School of Rock is the exception! Its such a great movie, it's funny (there's heaps of great one liners) and the music in it is so catchy. The whole story line is just wacky and totally unrealistic, but that's what I love about it. If you haven't already, you should watch this movie. I would be surprised if you didn't like it!
If you know me, you know I'm a sucker for those 90's/early 2000's RomComs. Romantic comedies these days just aren't the same you know? There are still some really great ones, but I don't think they are quite as good as the oldies. Anywho, I had seen My Best Friend's Wedding a LONG time ago. I think I was a bit too young to understand it completely because *spoilers* I was always really pissed off that the guy ended up marrying the girl anyway *end spoilers*, but I re-watched it a couple of days ago and I really enjoyed it. I'd say it was less Rom and more Com, but it was really good and gave me all the feels! If you haven't seen it I definitely recommend it (and it's on Netflix now too!)
I hope you guys enjoyed this new... segment? I don't know what word I'm thinking of but you know what I mean. Again, let me know if this is something you think I should continue each month, or not either way :)
