I had a pretty good reading month if I do say so myself. I read 1 graphic novel, 1 chidren's book, 1 short story and 7 novels. So not bad! If you want to read more of my thoughts about any of the books, click the rating.
Risk by Fleur Ferris (★★★★/5) I really enjoyed this book. It told such an important story that I think everyone should read.
The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket (★★★/5) I loved the movie as a kid but the book just didn't do it for me. I thought it was kind of disturbing. I'm sure I would have loved it as a kid but as a 20 year old, not so much.
Chasing River by K. A. Tucker (★★★.5/5) This was a really good New Adult novel. It dragged on at times and had a lot of information that I didn't really care about, but overall it was good.
Sidney Nolan by Yvonne Mes (★★★★.5/5) This was a good children's book, very informative. My only complaint was that I would have liked some more information. I think it's great for kids though.
Sex Criminals: Volume One by Matt Fraction & Chip Zdarsky (★★/5) This was a graphic novel, I had heard a few people talk about it and since I don't like fantasy stuff that is normally in graphic novels, I thought this would be more for me. It wasn't graphic in that way which was nice, I thought it was quite boring though to be honest. Some parts were good, but other than that, it's nothing to write home about. I won't be reading anymore in the series. I wrote a review on Goodreads, which you can find here.
The Sleeper and the Spindle by Neil Gaiman (★/5) I really didn't like this. It was boring and there was absolutely no character development. I didn't even know who the characters were it was just that bad. Sorry not sorry.
Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson (★★★★.5/5) This was such an adorable book, I had been putting it off for so long and I have no idea why! I didn't think I would like a book about a roadtrip but I really did and I am dying to read another one now.
Better off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg (★★.5/5) I thought this would be a cute friends to more than friends story, but I just didn't like it. It was boring, the writing style wasn't engaging and the characters weren't very likeable.
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (★★★/5) My expectations for this were quite high, so that might be the reason I didn't like it as much? I don't know. I liked the romance and Cath's development throughout the book. Hated the ending and really didn't like the Simon Snow fanfiction stuff. Overall, it was ok.
Surviving Ice by K. A. Tucker (★★★★.5/5) Loooooved this!! Such an amazing NA romance, would definitely recommend! I've actually made my sister read it as well and she is really enjoying it (so far)
Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass (★★★★.5/5) Everything I wanted, and more. This was such an amazing compilation of stories, if you are a fan of The Selection series, I highly recommend picking this one up.
Favourite: It's hard but I'm thinking I have to go with Surviving Ice. I need more!
Least Favourite: I think that's obvious, but The Sleeper and the Spindle.
Apple & Rain by Sarah Crossan: I started this a few weeks ago, got about 80 pages in and gave up. So technically I'm not currenty reading it because I won't be finishing it, but I thought I would include it.
Ten Tiny Breaths by K. A. Tucker: Since I loved the other 2 books I read by her, I thought I would give this series a try and I am really enjoying it so far. I'm about 100 pages in so hopefully I'll finish it tonight or tomorrow.
