I should be doing my 2000 word essay that is due in 2 days right now, but instead I’m writing this review. I am such a rebel. I read the first three books in the Crossfire series back to back, starting them literally straight after another because I couldn’t wait to find out what happened. But this third book didn’t really cut it for me. I actually kind of expected this because really, how much could possibly go wrong for one couple? Not to mention that in the books, it has literally only been a couple of months , I kind of keep forgetting that as their relationship has developed so much in such a short amount of time…Anyway back to the book.
Because my expectations for this third book were so low, I wasn’t exactly disappointed. While it is not the best book, I still really enjoyed it, and I like how Gideon and Eva’s relationship progressed…kind of. If you read the book you probably know what I am talking about. I feel like they really rushed into things in that aspect, especially since nothing had really been resolved before hand.
I have seen a lot of people saying they didn’t like how it was all based around the secondary characters and that their story lines were boring, but I honestly didn’t realise. I’m not going to lie, I did skip over bits and pieces where it dragged a bit but I love Eva’s best friend, I really cannot think of his name but I love him, and I like his story as predictable as it is.
There was also a lot more sex in this book, and I feel they went places where they didn’t really go in the first two. I liked that though, it shows their progressing as a couple and you can see that in how they are towards each other. Eva isn’t as insecure now and I feel like she isn’t so dependent on Gideon anymore which used to get slightly annoying.
Sorry this review is kind of all over the place, I finished the book 2 days ago so I’m kind of all jumbled up. I will be reading the next one just because I love Gideon and I heard that you’ll be hearing from his p.o.v? So I’m looking forward to that. I feel like that could either be done really well, or it will just ruin it so we’ll see.
Also I heard this series is being turned into a TV show?!??!?!?!?! I am literally so ecited but at the same time, I'm really scared. I feel like it will be very hard to find the perfect Gideon Cross, they failed with Fifty Shades so lets see if they can succeed with this. Fingers crossed!!
Thanks for reading!! Now, back to my assignment :(
