Sydney Paige was never so mortified to hear the words "wrong number" in her life. She meant to tell off the guy who broke her best friend's heart, but unleashed her anger on a perfect stranger instead. And now her world is turned upside down by the captivating man who wants to keep her on the line.
Brian Savage is living a life he's quickly come to hate-until Sydney's wild rant has him hooked and hungry for more. Soon the sexy woman on the phone becomes the lover in his bed. But Brian has secrets, and the closer he lets Syd get, the harder it is to shield her from the devastating mistakes of his past . . .
Oh. My God!!! This is my first J. Daniels book, but now I totally understand the hype! I freaking loved this story. I read maybe 2 lines of the blurb and decided to read it. After staying up reading until 2am and then waking up at 6:30am to finish it, all I can say is what a ride that was.
This book has everything you could possibly want in a New Adult romance. It has the mystery, it has the romance (damn does it have a good romance), it has humour (the amount of times I laughed out loud was crazy!), it has sad times (it’s not often a book like this will make me cry, but I did in fact tear up several times), it has amazing characters! I honestly loved everyone in this book, which is rare for me to like anyone but the main characters. But most of all, it has great writing and is completely unique. Given it may not be the most realistic book I’ve ever read, but what does that matter? I feel like given the circumstances in the book, the characters all acted very realistically in the situation, and I didn’t even find myself rolling my eyes!
As I said before, I rarely read a book and love all the characters. But I would honestly read a story from ANY of the characters in this book. I feel really satisfied with how Brian and Sydney’s story ended and I cannot wait until December when I can read Tori and Jamie’s story :)
But ultimately, if you are looking for a good new adult romance to read, look no further! Highly highly recommend Four Letter Word!
