Best friends since they could walk. In love since the age of fourteen.
Complete strangers since this morning.
He'll do anything to remember. She'll do anything to forget.
Wow. Much wow. Very suspense (I just couldn’t help myself). This book had so much hype about it when it first came out back in January. I had read some reviews and people either love it, or they hate it. I am definitely one who loves it.
The book (or should I say novella because it’s so damn tiny), is weird I will admit that but it’s also so suspenseful and just makes me want to keep reading to find out more. This isn’t a spoiler because it’s literally in the first chapter of the book, but it’s about Charlie and Silas (such a stupid name), and they have lost their memory. They know basic things like how to walk and talk and other random facts. But basically they know nothing about themselves; they don’t know their name, friends, family etc. It’s just such an interesting concept and I think Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher have done an amazing at writing it.
I find it hard to review the book since it’s so short but I just really liked it. I connected with the characters easily, I found them all interesting. I really love Silas even if I do hate his name. How would you even pronounce that? See-less? Sigh-less? Who knows!! It’s stupid. But either way he was amazing.
I also liked how it had alternate perspective chapters. So one chapter would be from Charlie’s point of view, and the next Silas and so on. I feel like that is very hard to master in books, and it can either be done really well, or really bad. This was done really well.
So this book was such a nice surprise. I didn’t know what to expect. I went into this literally knowing nothing except it had a cliff hanger ending, which it did but it definitely wasn’t as big as I was expecting with the way people were carrying on about it. There weren’t any slow parts (not that there was much room to add in any slow parts), it was all very suspenseful and I don’t know, it was just quality content.
So if you couldn’t tell already, I did really enjoy this book. I highly recommend you all to read this. It’s a very quick read, I don’t think it would take anyone more than 2 hours to read it to be honest. And also, who doesn’t love a good romance-suspense-interesting-creepy-weird-funny-mysterious book? I’ll definitely be reading the next one. And the one after that, whenever it comes out. I kind of wish I had waited to read it because Im obviously going to want to read part 2 straight away, and then there won’t be a part 3 for god knows how long and I just don’t know if I’m mentally prepared for the feels right now.
Book: 9/10 (losing a mark because I think they should have put all 3 into one)
Format: ePub, 246 pages
Publisher: Hoover Ink
If you liked: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins
Still here! Ok, so I just looked up when part 3 comes out and it’s not until next year! How annoying. But I just wanted to mention this because I looked it up on Goodreads, and people have already rated it. HOW? And more importantly WHY???I don’t understand how anyone can possibly rate a book before they’ve even released the cover of it. It is so stupid and it is infuriating. It is currently sitting at an average of a 4.1 rating which is pretty good, but that means some people would have given it less than 5. How can anyone rate a book before it’s even out? That’s just bloody ridiculous. This probably shouldn’t make me as mad as it does, but it does. Does that make sense? Let’s see how many times I can use the word does. But seriously, this infuriates me. There should be some rule that you can’t rate the book until you’ve read it. Stupid people I just don’t get it. If you’re one of those people who rates the book on Goodreads before it’s even out, then I don’t meant to offend you but that’s just stupid. You should re-evaluate your life. I’ll stop ranting now (except I’ll still probably rant in my head. And probably again to my friends later. And then probably to anyone else who will listen to me but I don’t get out much so that will probably be it.)
