The Selection began with thirty-five girls.
Now with the group narrowed down to the six Elite, the competition to win Prince Maxon's heart is fiercer than ever—and America is still struggling to decide where her heart truly lies. Is it with Maxon, who could make her life a fairy tale? Or with her first love, Aspen?
America is desperate for more time. But the rest of the Elite know exactly what they want—and America's chance to choose is about to slip away.
Sequels are never anywhere near as good as the original, and this was no exception. However I still bloody loved it! I had a few more issues with this than the first one, but again, it is an amazing story that I cannot get enough of.
America was getting on my nerves a bit the way she would always go back and forth between Maxon and Aspen. It was literally ridiculous. One minute she would be in love with Maxon and wanting to be “The One” and then the next page she will be thinking about how she could run off and Marry Aspen. It was bloody ridiculous! Another thing, Maxon has started to get friendly with a few other contestants, which I really do not appreciate. And to think America could have stopped all of this by now, but no.
Some nice little plot twists made their way into this one which I really enjoyed and definitely didn’t see coming. I like how the story followed on from the previous one, making it really easy to read and follow along. This one was extremely fast paced, I almost couldn’t believe it when I read the words “end of book two”. Except I could believe it because I could see how much I had left… but still super-duper quick! Like, read it in three hours quick.
I can see why some people would be on Team Aspen after this book, but I am still a firm Maxon supporter. I seriously cannot get enough of this series! I’m about to start The One and I almost don’t want to because I know it will be over. Also I'm pretty nervous considering how I saw my friend react while reading it. Fun times ahead!
