I'm not even going to explain what this book is about because I'm pretty sure most people will know. Anyway, I actually listened to this on audiobook in the car on my way to and from prac this week. I really enjoyed this on audiobook, much better than reading it (I read the last 100 pages myself) as the lady reading it on the audio was just so good!
As it usually is with books with different point of views, I definitely had my favourites and I really did not like Lena. I had seen the movie when it first came out and really enjoyed it, and when reading (listening) to this I realised how good of a job they did adapting it. The character descriptions were spot on, and the mannerisms and everything was just great. I'm actually watching the movie right now as I write this (fun fact), and they have changed a little bit from the book mainly with Lena, but most of it is the same.
Did I mention that this book is hilarious? I laughed out loud so many times while listening to this which is why I think it was better to listen to it.
I think my favourite of the four has to be Carmen. She's so funny and relatable. I know some people really hate her and think she's immature with the whole dad thing but when listening I could totally understand why she did what she did.
Bee is my second favourite. I really didn't like movie Bee but book Bee is great, and Eric? Damn! I'm intrigued to see how their relationship will go in the other books.
Tibby annoyed me a bit. She just seemed so depressed and moody all the time and it just pissed me off. She was pretty funny though, I think I laughed the most at her and Bailey! And Lena. I just didn't like her at all. I feel like it was partly because I don't like Alexis Bledel and she played her in the movie and I cannot separate! Also her story just wasn't interesting to me at all!
So I didn't like how in the book, one minute it would be Bee's story and then in the same breath it would go to Carmen. It was really confusing and it would take me a bit to figure out who they were talking about. I also didn't like the ending, I felt like it was really rushed and not much of an ending at all. I also felt like their stories were very short, especially Lenas. Not much happened and it was so boring! I couldn't even skip ahead because it was an audiobook #thestruggleisreal
Side note, I really dislike the cover picture I've got here. I like the cover I have much better but I couldn't find a picture online anywhere! Anywho, I've got nothing else to add to this so I'll end this here. I'll definitely be getting the next audio book for next week!
