I figure this Book TAG is appropriate considering that at this moment you are reading this I am back at school. And by school I mean primary school on my final teaching prac! It's currently the 27th of July when I am writing this (because that's how dedicated I am), and... that's all I actually had to say. Just wanted to let you know that this is past Terri and that I am probably exhausted right about now. Anywho, hope you enjoy the TAG!
Name your favourite author's (or books) writing style.
I feel like this is becoming a clichéd answer now a days because it seems that Colleen Hoover is a lot of people's favourite authors. But I honestly love Colleen Hoover's writing. I don't know how she does it but she manages to create such unique stories in a genre that if I'm honest, doesn't seem to have many different storylines. I don't know, I just love her.
A book that made you frustrated!
One Tiny Lie by K. A. Tucker! If you read my rant review from a few weeks ago, you would know just how frustrated I was! I liked the story, but there was a lot of cheating going on in that story, which just ruined it for me to be honest. You can check out my rant here if you like :)
A book that really made you think or question things.
The 13th Gift by Joanne Huist Smith. I don't read many books that are kind of life changing, but this book most definitely was. It is a true story about a woman whose husband died recently leaving her behind with her three children. They're all devastated and being December they are just not feeling the Christmas spirit at all. But then one day this package from an anonymous person shows up on their doorstep, and the next day another package and so on, and before long the whole family have kind of come back together and it's just a beautiful book. It's not Christmastime now but I'd still recommend it!
Your favourite book from a different time period.
The Boy at the Top of the Mountain by John Boyne was set in the time of WWII, and while I was reading it I didn't think it was all that great if I'm honest. But it's now been several months later and I honestly still think about it. Basically it's about a boy who has been orphaned and so he goes to live with his Aunty who just happens to work at Hitler's residence (at the top of the mountain). And so this innocent boy grows up in Hitler's house following Hitler's rules and you can see him slowly become brainwashed by his ways. It's just insane and I'd highly recommend!
Your favourite book with pictures.
Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass has some of the prettiest book illustrations I've seen. I didn't even know it had illustrations until I started reading it which was a nice surprise. Also the book itself is pretty damn amazing too :)
A book you would love to see turned into a movie.
There's a few I've mentioned before so I thought I'd go with something different this time and I don't think I've spoken about Anna and the French Kiss enough on this blog. I really loved this book, it was such a cute little romance and I think it would make for a really nice romantic comedy.
A character with a similar music taste to you.
I have the strangest taste in music, like I like pop songs but then I also like really old songs and then there's some country I like but I also really like Indie music... I just have a very eclectic taste I think. And so I haven't read about a character with a similar taste in music, but I listened to the Maybe Someday soundtrack while I was reading the book, and so I'm going to go with that because there were some pretty good songs on there.
A food from a book you would love to try.
The Road That Leads to Us seemed to have a lot of burgers, and I like burgers.
Bus Ride Home
A book or author that is relaxing.
Kasie West's books are just so cute and fluffy and light and just happy (for the most part). I haven't been able to find a book that makes me as happy as her books since!
A book someone recommended that you enjoyed.
A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray. I had actually heard about the book and had been wanting to read it before my friend recommended it to me, but it wasn't very high on my TBR. But then my friend said how much I would love it, so I eventually read it and did in fact end up liking it a lot! Hopefully I'll get around to reading the second one soon!
