Hello hello hello! Here I am, back with another recommendations post. This time I am recommending New Adult. NA is one of my favourite genre's. I think it's a tie with Young Adult though. i just feel like I can sometimes connect more with NA because the characters are my age. Anyway, these are the 5 (yes, there is actually 5 this time, I counted) NA books that I love that I haven't seen many people talk about.
A lot of people know and love Davis Levithan, but I haven't really heard (or seen) many people talk about The Lover’s Dictionary. I seriously loved this book, it's such a short book that is told in dictionary format. For each letter of the alphabet, there is a word that relates to this one couples relationship and through those 26 words somehow it tells such an amazing story. You never find out the gender of the couple so it's completely open to interpretation which I loved. I highly, highly recommend this book. It didn't even take me 3 hours to finish it. My full review can be found here.
This isn't something I would normally pick up. I'm not into the bike gang romances so if I had of seen this in the store, I would have walked right past it. Thankfully, I was sent a review copy of Arrow’s Hell by Chantal Fernando and I absolutely loved it. It's not a favourite, but it was written really wel and the romance was very addicting. This story follows a girl who I think is in college, and her brother is part of this gang. The brother is very protective and for some reason sends this guy to go pick her up. Things happen an I think you get the idea. A very good story, do not judge this book by its cover! Full review can be found here.
Surviving Ice by K.A. Tucker is another book that I was sent, that I definitely would not have picked up otherwise. This turned out to be one of my favourites of the year. It is part of a series but I don't feel like this one has many spoilers (at least not for Chasing River which is the only other one I have read in this particular series). Ivy is a tattoo artist and works at her uncles shop. Her uncle gets killed and she is a witness, she's ready to leave San Fransisco, until she meets Sebastion. That's all I will say, but I absolutely loved this. Full review can be found here.
My next recommendation is Façade by Nyrae Dawn, or just anything by Nyrae Dawn. I swear, I've never seen anyone talk about this amazing author and I don't know why! Her books are so amazing. They're like the New Adult versions of Katie McGarry, but they are so much better. The romances are to die for and I strongly recommend any and all of her books. Facade is one of my favourites. I can't remmeber the exact plot of it but I remember thoroughly enjoying this one. Full review can be found here.
One of my all time favourite New Adult books that not nearly enough people talk about, and that is Before We Were Strangers by Renee Carlino. I only read this one this year, but I feel in love with the writing and the characters and just everything about it. I had read one other book by this author and really didn't enjoy it, so I wasn't expecting much from BWWS, but it blew me away. Before We Were Strangers is a beautiful, heart-warming, tear-jerking, funny, sexy and just down right adorable, love hate love story, that needs to be shared. I would highly highly recommend you stop what you’re doing and read this book. It is a definite must read for fans of The Notebook, or if you just like books, because this is a good one. Full review can be found here.
