I know I'm a bit late with this, I had the post all written up for Wednesday but then I got sick and I couldn't post it. But I'm back so here it is. I don't actually get recommended books to me very often, or if I do I have already read them, or they aren't something I'm interested in or feel like reading. So it was kind of hard for me to get 5 for this list.
5. The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
This book was recommended to me by my friend Nicky. She grew up reading it and she has been telling me for years that she thinks I'll really enjoy the romance in it "and just wait until I get to book 4". So I'm pushing through until book #4. I do really like the books (I've read 1 & 2) but I can never find the motivation to read them, I don't know what it is about them but every time I sit down to read it I am able to get through maybe 10 pages and then I put it down for weeks, which is strange because this is basically middle grade so I don't know. I listened to the second one on audiobook which was a much better experience, but...yeah.
Mystery Man by Kristen Ashley
My sister recommended me this series a while ago when I started getting into more adult type books like Sylvia Day. Now, these aren't normally the types of books I would read because it seems like all the men in this series are in some form of gang (I can't really remember), but I do remember I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's definitely more on the raunchy side so not for kids!
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
This was recommended to me by my friend Patricia (@patriciacrowther) to get me into fantasy, and I will admit I liked this book. it took me a while to read it because I'm not used to the density of fantasy, but I enjoyed it and fully intended to continue the series, however I read a spoiler for the latest book and I just really didn't like where it went. So I'm not continuing this, but I did like this story :)
Charade by Nyrae Dawn
This was recommended to me by my friend Jess (@xbeautifullybookish) and it is now one of my favourite books!I mean, I never would have picked up this book, just look at the cover! It so doesn't look like a book that I would want to read, but don't be deceived this book is amazing! It's a New Adult book that follows a girl with a dark past and a guy who's mother is dying and he's going through college to make her happy. It's basically a mixture of The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West and Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry but in NA. The second one in the series (Facade) is my favourite, but they are both fantastic!
Before We Were Strangers by Renee Carlino
I can't remember who exactly recommended this to me, but someone commented on one of my posts saying that they absolutely loved it and I should give it a try. So I did and now I absolutely love this book! It's one of my all time favourites, so thank you to random person who recommended this to me!
For those of you who don't know, this is a New Adult romance which tells the story of two people who were together in college but drifted apart over the years, but somehow find their way back to each other. You get more from their college years though and I absolutely loved the feel the book gave. If you liked The Notebook I think you'll definitley like this as it's basically The Notebook without the sad stuff :P
That's all I have to say about that.. have a nice day or night or have a nice day tomorrow.. I don't know.
